1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Documintz ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

Documintz is operated by Steininger AG, Gartenstrasse 4, 6300 Zug, Switzerland.

2. Description of Service

Documintz is an AI-powered document scanner that helps users digitize, organize, and analyze physical documents. The App provides:

• Document scanning using your device's camera with automatic edge detection
• On-device text extraction (OCR) via Apple Vision framework
• AI-powered document analysis, summarization, and categorization
• Local PDF storage on your device
• Document search and organization features

AI analysis results are generated estimates based on the extracted document text. They should be used as informational aids and not as substitutes for professional review of important documents.

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to use Documintz. You sign up using Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Documintz is free to download. If we offer paid plans, Apple's App Store bills them and the app shows the price before you buy.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings
• Refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policy

5. User Content

You retain ownership of all documents, images, and data you create or scan using the App ("User Content"). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to process your User Content on your device solely to provide the service.

You are solely responsible for the legality and accuracy of your User Content, including ensuring you have the right to scan and store documents. We may use anonymized, aggregated data to improve the App.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or networks
• Use automated means to access the App (bots, scrapers, etc.)
• Circumvent usage limits or security measures
• Use the App to store or process illegal content, malicious code, or content that violates others' rights

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of Documintz, including but not limited to the AI analysis methodology, design, code, and trademarks, are owned by Steininger AG and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

If you provide feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to compensate you.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Documintz is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

• The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
• OCR text extraction will be 100% accurate
• AI analysis results will be complete or error-free
• Your data will never be lost (always maintain your own backups)

The App is not a substitute for professional legal, financial, or other advice. Do not rely solely on AI-generated analysis for important decisions.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Steininger AG shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or revenues, arising out of or related to your use of the App.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or relating to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Privacy

Your use of Documintz is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in compliance with Swiss nFADP and EU GDPR.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time by contacting [email protected].

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases. Locally stored documents remain on your device. Account data may be deleted after reasonable notice.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Zug, Switzerland.

14. Apple-Specific Terms

• Apple is not a party to these Terms
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App
• Apple is not responsible for product warranties or addressing claims related to the App
• In case of third-party intellectual property claims, you will contact us, not Apple
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms
